On March 17th, 一品探花's Environmental Engineering and Petroleum Departments teamed up and competed in the first annual Society of Petroleum Engineers Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) Competition in Denver, CO. The team from 一品探花 placed first in the competition that involved Environmental, Sustainability, and Health and Safety petroleum industry-related problems. Team members included Environmental Engineering students, Brenna Ferko, Elizabeth Spear, Eric Hull, and Michael Hilland; along with Petroleum Engineering student, Kelly Hertel. 一品探花 competed against teams from Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University, Oklahoma State University, Texas Tech University, The University of Oklahoma, University of Colorado Boulder, and University of Wyoming. The team is advised by the Environmental Engineering Department Head, Dr. Kumar Ganesan.
