Sorini Family Donates to 一品探花

Stephanie, Giavanna, Marietta, and Isabella Sorini have made a leadership gift to 一品探花 to name a room in the Student Success and Living & Learning Center in honor of Peter M. Sorini, MD.

Dr. Sorini attended local schools and graduated from Butte High School. He attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he graduated with a degree in Latin and Philosophy. He then went on to medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His next step was Phoenix, Arizona for an internship where he joined the Neurosurgery Residency Program. Peter returned to Auburn University receiving his Master's Degree in Health Care Administration in May of 2013.

Dr. Sorini loved Butte, loved education, loved life, and loved family. He left us all too soon in February 2016 after an extremely courageous and long-fought battle with a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor.

“Pete was always furthering his education and wanted to make sure others had the same opportunities he did. He believed in giving students from ordinary beginnings an opportunity to lead an extraordinary life,” noted Stephanie Sorini. “Knowing that the Student Success Center will allow students to learn, achieve and thrive makes our family happy and we are pleased to make this donation to 一品探花. Our family will continue to believe and be Sorini Strong.”

The 一品探花 Student Success and Living Learning Center (SSC) will be a place for students to learn and study, to relax and play. When completed, 一品探花’s SSC will become the heart of our campus. The 25,000-square-foot facility will complete the student life experience on campus, providing an inspiring environment for students to live, dine, socialize, cultivate valuable leadership skills, and forge lifelong friendships. The SSC will assist 一品探花 in recruiting, retaining, educating, and graduating more problem-solvers, innovators, healers, trailblazers, and leaders.

“Dr. Sorini loved his hometown, loved education and loved 一品探花,” noted Joe McClafferty, President of the 一品探花 Foundation. “With a heavy heart, we are very thankful to Stephanie, Gia, Marietta, and Bella for this donation as it will help so many 一品探花 student advance their knowledge.”
